The service is performing well and meeting our expectations.

People told us the home was nice, staff were friendly, and they could do what they wanted to do. A person said, “Staff are very attentive, will come whenever we call for them.” Our observations supported this with staff treating people kindly and having a nice rapport with everyone, all interactions were relaxed and good humoured. Feedback from families was positive. People were supported to retain independence, including making informed decisions and managing associated risks. They were enabled to socialise in communal areas with each other, and outside of the home in the local community, taking part in activities which they had requested or chosen to do. People told us, “There’s lots to do here - there are always activities on offer.” Staff supported people to celebrate special occasions and social events, for example people told us they had cakes and balloons for their birthdays, and the day was recognised by staff and others in the home. People told us about a recent BBQ which they enjoyed, and staying there at Christmas, stating, “They did Christmas very well with presents and decorations, food was very good but too much for everyone to eat “ At the time of our visit the World Cup was taking place and staff were holding a World Cup draw; we saw people engaging and picking teams, then having their countries flag posted on their room door so they could keep track of who had what team. When their team lost it would be removed so people could see who was still in the competition. Some people told us the country they had chosen and were excited to see the tournament which could be viewed either in the decorated cinema room or their own bedroom. People felt safe saying “I feel very safe living at the home, and it does feel like a home.”
